ABOUT:
From the suburbs of New Orleans, in the spring of 2005, Ryan Bourg (rhythm guitar & vocals) introduce his cousin Chad Bourg (drums) to his classmate Edward Pina (lead guitar and vocals). They decided to form a band and started to practice in Chad's garage. The band was missing one thing a bass player. After about two months the band enlisted a neighborhood friend Tyler Schouest (bass guitar). While tossing name around they came up with the name Dodging Cathrine. The bands first gig was at Chad's birthday party, playing mostly Blink-182 and Green Day covers to their friends delight. They also played a Halloween party in Chad's garage. The band filmed the show, made DVDs and sold to their friends. In 2006 they play some more parties and clubs in and around New Orleans. The band even did a video at Tipitina's French Quarter. The band played a local school festival and donated the money they made on the Halloween Homicide DVDs to the school music department, which had been flooded during the hurricane of 2005. At the Cajun Festival the band somehow talked a popular local band into letting them play during their break between sets. The crowd went crazy and the local cover band never made it back on stage. The Cajun Festival people were so impress they ask them to play in 2007. Dodging Cathrine was never about playing cover songs and started writing more of the own music. In the summer of 2006 the band cut a four song demo. The band really wasn't satisfy with the demo, it didn't capture the sound they were looking for. Probable because the studio they use specialize in brass & jazz bands, lessons learned. Even though the band was not pleased with the demo the songs on it were internet hits, climbing the charts on music websites such as ubl.com, soundclick.com, indiecharts.com and were very popular on myspace. In 2007 the band only played one gig , the Cajun Festival. Over the summer the band did a interview on a local radio show also. 2007 was never about doing gigs and interviews but about making a CD so the band mostly concentrated on writing more songs for the CD. First they had to find a studio that would capture the sound they were looking for. After looking at several studios they choose Festival Studios. So over theThanksgiving Holidays the band went to work. After 8 days Dodging Cathrine emerge from the studio with their first CD,"Hands In, Pants Down". The first song (Time To Waste) suck you in immediately ,the last song (Drop Dead) leaves you wanting more. With the band unique sound, catchy melodies and pop-punk beats, this CD is destined to become a Pop-Punk classic.
