Family Force 5

Hey GMC Fam! did i mention how much i LOVE Family Force 5? OMG! All day! And my boys love them too! We will meet them. I can feel it in my bones! My fave song for the moment is 'Love Addict' and of course 'Super Sonic.' I saw them perform it on GMC one night and I was hooked. I immed. got pen and paper and wrote down their names, and ordered their cd THAT NIGHT.

Honored to Sing for Veterans

I was honored to sing for WW II Veterans tonite at the World Premiere of 'Cho'late Soldiers from the USA' at the Smithsonian in Washington DC. The film/documentary had me in tears, and I was able to love on some of the last remaining black WW II Vets from Europe and Brittain. Again, what an honor. Even as I sung tears crowded up i the creases of my eyes.  I am grateful to the sacrafice of all US Veterans. I honor you and thank you for fighting for my freedom!

Thinking Aloud

Just thinking aloud! But--why does it seem that when your calendar books with gigs-all the gigs are about the same time? lol! For a working mom, married, with 2 children, and managing a non-profit org. and a music career-this can be tough!  I try to balance it all-but when gigs are like 2-3 all in the same week or wknd-i'm batting zero! I'm grateful for the gigs-but man-it takes wisdom and discernment to know what to say YES and what to say NO too. I need a manager!!! God knows our needs-even before we ask. What a sweet, dear and loving Father! Philip. 4:6

Awesome Interview of Grammy Award Winners!

I'll have the pleasure to interview Donald Lawrence and Marvin Sapp, both Grammy Award Winning artists/producers, this coming Tuesday for the Ion Televison Network's local public affairs show 'Metro Magazine.' The interview will be done via Satellitte, but its still an honor none the less!  I met Pastor Sapp on the Radio One One Love Cruise earlier this year where he was a headline artist and I was one of the featured up and coming artists. So humble, so down to earth. Wonder if he'll remember me? Probably not! People stood in line for hours for his authograph, picture and to shake his hand!  Truly, a humble man! Pastor Sapp and Donald Lawrence will be promoting the Verizon Wireless sponsored 'How Sweet the Sound' Gospel Choir Competition!

If you are in the DC Area, check out Ion TV's Metro Magazine every Saturday at 6:30am, where yours truly, amd the host! Hey-we all gotta have aday job, right?

Background Vocals

I rehearsed with my background vocalists today. We've got a big gig coming up in November. Singing background is fun-and even tho I'm a recording artist, i'll always love singing bgkgrnd!  It takes a special kind of person to do background-and in my humble opinion-i think every aspiring recording artists should sing background for a stint of time b/4 they launch out. You learn so much. Well at least I did! lol!

INDIE'S and the STELLARS!

I am so pRoUD and tickled pink concerning the many 'indie' artist who made it to the FINAL BALLOT for the Stellar Awards! I'm so excited for them-i feel like its me!!! That's how happy and thrilled I am for them! I won't get into naming my fave's, but they all have great chances with comiong out with a win! i'm a SAGMA member, so you best believe i made my voice heard! Awesome talent of all kinds in the Gospel industry.  Let's continue to build the Kingdom *together* despite race, socio-economic status, gender, or church affliation! Again-too proud. of the INDIE ARTISTS!  lol! ☺
