Distant Strangers

We are all Distant Strangers...

Distant Strangers was formed in 2005. Hailin' from Saint Cloud, Minnesota, this hip hop group is different than most others out right now. With a live guitar player and two MC's, they bring a different style of beats and rappin' to tha table, which they call "Hip Rock". Active Oner and L-DuB are tha ones spittin' those lethal rhymes on those raw beats laced with guitar by Robs, who is tha group's guitar player. They met at work back in 2005 and found out they were all involved with hip hop music, so they got together and had a few jam sessions with Robs playin' to beats while Active and DuB freestyled, and they were likin' tha way things were soundin, so they formed Distant Strangers. Their first show was on April 30th, 2005 at a local coffee shop in Saint Cloud called tha Java Joint. Since then, they've done numerous shows all around Minnesota, and are spreading across the Midwest! They have also opened up for some big name artists such as 2 Live Crew (August 2005, The What's Up Lounge in Mankato, MN), AK Billionaire from Do Or Die (November 2007, Trobec's Event Center, St. Joe, MN), J-Kwon and Big Meech (March 2008, Trobec's Event Center, St. Joe, MN), and are plannin' a few more of those big concerts for this year. They have been through their share of drama within the local hip hop community of Saint Cloud, but have always risen above tha drama to keep on tha grind n do their thang.
