Give Your Fans Your Video Close-Up

Hey artists!  Need a way to let the masses know who YOU are?  Well, here it is.  Your Video Close-Up.  We want you to create a video about you, your craft, your hometown, the people who surround and inspire you, and anything else that will allow your fans to get to know you better.  Think of it as your own “Behind the Music."

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Grab your video camera.  If you don’t have one, borrow or rent one!

  2. Head out in your hometown (or on the road if you happen to be touring) and start filming stuff about you.  Here's a list of things to consider including:
    • Your name(s) and where you live
    • Why did you join FameCast?
    • How long have you been an artist & why did you start?
    • Who are your influences/idols?
    • Tell us about your family/significant others and what they think of you, or better yet, interview them on camera!
    • What do you want to get out of this web site and/or contest?
    • Where do you want your career to go?
    • What is your ultimate festival line-up?  Or the five CDs/DVDs you’d want on a deserted island?
    • What is one thing people would not guess about you?
    • What are your guilty pleasures?
    • Show us a day in the life of you: school, day job, at home, in the studio, around your city....be creative!

  3. Edit your video as you like, but please keep it to 2 minutes in length.  We reserve the right to edit it, if needed.  You don’t need fancy editing software or a buddy with editing skills to do this.  Just simple camera shots strung together will do!

  4. Finally, upload your Video Close-Up by logging into your artist account manager and clicking your "Media" tab.  Then simply click the "Add Video" button and fill out the Upload New Video form (if you're already logged in, click here to upload now).  Be sure to check the "Video Close-Up" checkbox to confirm that you want to use the video as your Video Close-Up.  You can begin uploading your video now!  

Your Video Close-Up will appear on your Backstage page for all your fans to watch and may even be featured in the Artist Bios channel on FameCast TV.

Please note that uploading a Video Close-Up is not required unless you have advanced to the FameCast Finals.  Although, we highly recommend doing one anyway as it's a sure way to get people interested in you & your talent!
