After years of stops and starts, Dani Alpert has completed her first short movie, �A REALLY Intimate Portrait � Of a complete unknown.�

Comedienne-writer-producer-director, Dani Alpert grew up in musical theater, and is an admitted recovering child performer. She still bores her friends with stories about the time she starred as Roxie Hart, in the Stagedoor Manor production of CHICAGO, in 1981. She graduated from New York University Film School, having made only one, 8 minute, 16mm black and white film, but did work out at the school gym alongside Adam Sandler. During her Senior year, she worked at a gym where Christopher Meloni, Law & Order: SVU, worked out. Towel?

After graduating, Dani moved to Seattle to return to the theater, and to get in on the ground floor of the burgeoning production scene in the Pacific Northwest. Had she been paying attention, she also would�ve seen a local band define grunge rock. But she wasn�t and she didn�t. Shortly thereafter, Dani moved to Los Angeles to attend the American Film Institute as a Producing Fellow. After a less than glamorous experience, including, but not limited to, babysitting difficult directors, and shopping for craft services at Smart & Final, Dani decided to leave the producing to others.

Dani toiled in development for a few years and also started her own video production company. It wasn�t long before she discovered stand up comedy. After conquering the world famous Melrose Improv, she wrote, and starred in a one-woman show, entitled, DANI LIVE! performing throughout the Los Angeles area.

Dani is a WGA member, and a sometime professional screenwriter. She has written for studios, and the Ghost Whisperer herself, Jennifer Love Hewitt. Her resume also boasts variety, game, and reality shows.

A REALLY Intimate Portrait comes after six years of doing �other� things. It wasn�t until she got so royally fed up with yet another incomplete project hanging in the files, that she decided to get it in the can and out to the people. After 15 years in Los Angeles, and brief stints in Prague and Nicaragua, Dani now resides in New York.
