ABOUT:
Kristy Hanson has a sound that Recoil Magazines writes "would send most modern pop divas out looking for voice lessons." Kristy studied classical voice in college, but inspired by songwriters like Joni Mitchell, Patty Griffin, and Ani DiFranco, she turned from opera to follow her own musical path. Recently transplanted to Los Angeles, she has performed at LA venues such as The Knitting Factory, Tangier, and The Derby, and is currently preparing to tour in support of Already Gone. Her live show recently garnered praise from the respected Music Connection magazine: "Hanson truly shines....there's no doubt [she] can write and sing with the best of them." Across the country, she has performed at Chicago's Uncommon Ground, the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, and performed in the 2005 Indiegrrl Tour of college towns across the Midwest. She was featured at showcases at both the Midwest Music Summit in Indianapolis and the Rockrgrl Conference in Seattle. She has been featured on several radio shows, notably best-selling author Mitch Albom's nationally syndicated show out of Detroit and XMU's Radar Report.
