Michael Jackson is about to rock the Billboard charts.

Nielsen SoundScan's sales numbers won't be released until Wednesday (July 1) morning, but industry prognosticators indicate that three of Jackson's albums -- "Number Ones," "The Essential Michael Jackson" and "Thriller" -- each sold around 100,000 copies last week. The sales tracking week ended at the close of business on Sunday (June 28) night.

After eleven weeks at No. 1 with "Boom Boom Pow," the Black Eyed Peas are right behind themselves at No. 2 with the debut of "I Gotta Feeling" on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.

With their No. 1 and No. 2 songs this week, the Peas are the first duo or group since OutKast to occupy the top two spots on the Hot 100. OutKast accomplished that feat with "Hey Ya!" and "The Way You Move" at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in the issue dated Feb. 4, 2004.

The regrouped No Doubt opted to tour before recording a new album in order to jog the band's -- and particularly singer/lyricist Gwen Stefani's -- creativity. And so far, band members report, the strategy seems to be working.

"We definitely feel on top of our game right now," bassist Tony Kanal tells Billboard.com. "We feel really good about playing together again, and I do believe that's going to lead to a very inspired record as soon as we're done with this tour."

As photos of Nick Jonas and a newly single Miley Cyrus jet skiing together in Georgia emerge online, causing many fans to wonder if the former couple has reunited, the Jonas Brothers are set to release their new album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, on Tuesday. And the album will include a breakup duet by Nick and Miley entitled "Before the Storm," a song that recently leaked online.

 

"'Before the Storm' is probably one of my favorite songs on the record," Nick told MTV News. "I think it's probably one of my favorite songs because it has a great story to it.
